The truth...
The journey from maiden to mother represents a woman’s initiation into a new way of life. It’s an opportunity to access deeper levels of power, self-trust, and sovereignty than ever.
But when women seek out information about how to support themselves & their babies throughout postpartum, they encounter practitioners who don’t know much about the true physiological & psycho-emotional factors that contribute to stress post-birth.
Most doctors will tell you postpartum depression is solely the result of impersonal factors like chemical depression, genetic predisposition, or just plain bad luck.
Even holistic postpartum resources will just tell you to “find community” or “hire a nanny.” But these options are only surrogates for the intricate web of support that once offered women peace of mind during postpartum.
In this masterclass, we’ll explore essential resources for alchemizing these challenges & creating the conditions for easeful postpartum experiences.
Every woman deserves a wealth of resources to reclaim, curate, & welcome her sacred window of postpartum.

Why have we accepted postpartum depression as the norm?
Let's take a closer look...
Our society isn’t set up to support women through postpartum.
We no longer grow up in multi-generational households witnessing our mothers, sisters, or aunts breastfeeding or otherwise caring for their babies.
Women also feel torn between two incompatible sets of expectations.
On one level, we know the value of on-demand breastfeeding, co-sleeping, and attachment parenting. But we’re also conditioned to believe we should be able to do it all: if we’re “high functioning,” we’re not only a good mother but also a lover, a wife, a friend, and a woman who makes time for self-care.
When exhaustion, overwhelm, and loneliness set in, we often assume we’re the problem.

- You are a husband who wants to know what the heck is going on after birth and what to do about it!
The postpartum period is a crucible that sets the stage for your bond with your baby.
So why do you feel overwhelmed, resentful, & alone?
For thousands of years, women gave birth within intricate webs of support. They had the art of nourishing babies modeled to them from a young age.
Women didn’t live under the feminist messaging that says their value comes from their career, their high performance, or their hyper-independence.
And the invisible labor that now leaves them feeling over-stretched & isolated was non-existent. Within the family & larger community, roles were distinct & valued.
Let's fast-forward to the present...
Most women give birth among strangers in fluorescently lit hospitals. They’re told that birth is a dangerous medical emergency.
When they leave the hospital, they often return to households with no one but their male partners. (Newsflash: Men aren’t meant for postpartum support. It’s just not where they thrive—and we shouldn’t expect them to!)
Their parents, friends, & extended families are miles away (and typically only available through a screen). Their neighbors are strangers. They have nothing but Google to soothe their fears. They’ve been on hormonal birth control for the last decade. The natural processes of their bodies feel foreign & scary. These women are sleep-deprived, emotionally isolated, & nutritionally deficient, yet they’re told by doctors their depression is hereditary.
The truth is postpartum depression stems from a tidal wave of causes: the sociocultural forces that tell women they must “do it all,” our increasingly fractured society, nutritional deficiency, chronic stress, traumatic births, & more. But given that tribal living and other practices that supported women, babies, & families are long gone, how can we re-create the experiences that allow women to feel contained & supported? Is it even possible?
This is what we’re going to explore in my new masterclass, The Postpartum Puzzle: Putting Together the Pieces.
Every woman can have an easeful, empowering postpartum, but we’ve been misled about why so many women struggle after birth.
“There aren't enough words in the dictionary to express my gratitude for Eyla.
From our golden hour to the first weeks postpartum, everything was better and easier because we had worked with Eyla. My recovery was so quick, too, and night and day from my first birth. I hated breastfeeding with my first child, but am having the best time feeding this new baby. We are 8 weeks postpartum, exclusively breastfeeding (less a few pumped bottles here or there), and I have no desire or inclination to stop any time soon.
My entire experience, and the bond that I have with this baby as a result, is just completely different from my experience with my first child...
and I have Eyla to thank for that.”
